Here are a few homemade craters. These are made from aluminum pot-pie pans. You can buy these in bulk from the grocery store for a few bucks. You will get more than you need. Flip the pans over and squash the middle down. Carefully shape them as desired as you smash them. I then cut the edges into irregular shapes. Glues on some rocks and apply some texture, then paint.

Do you fill the bottoms with anything or does the glue/rocks stop it getting further bent out of shape?
Nice job on these.
Tristan beat me to it, so yeah, putting anything in there? Ever thought of using them as a mold to make plaster models? That way you could have more than one that looks the same. Either to keep in reserve if one breaks, give away to friends, or simply have more than one that looks similar.
I need to try this, I so need to get into terrain building:) After that I just have to start on the rules for my terrain only game.

Since these are metal they do not require any fill. Once you smash them into the desired shape there is not much chance that they will be damaged. If they are they will easily bend back into shape.
