Ungors

The first unit of Ungor is done. This 28 figure unit was originally part of a combined Gor/Ungor unit from the previous codex. Sixteen of these figures were painted more than a year ago. Once the new codex was released and the new platic Ungors came out I had to redesign the units. I had to paint 12 new models to finis this unit. The new plastic Ungor models are just amazing.

Army Standard Bearer and Brey-Shaman

For a little change of pace I decided to breakout some of my Beastmen. This has been an on again, off again project for a couple of years. Not sure if I will ever play. I was almost ready to jump in last version but I am not sure I will move to 8th edition. One thing is sure, I will continue to paint the army I have collected.

Warhounds of Chaos

Here is a bunch of Chaos Warhounds for my Beasts of Chaos army. Yes, I am still working on that project but not very quickly.

I slapped some paint on these in about two hours. This unit brings me up to about 1000 points and 4 core units. I have one more box of these to do sometime.

Completed Beast Herds

Ha! I bet you thought the Tale of More than Four Gamers was dead...well it is actually, but I am still working on my Beasts of Chaos army. I have finally completed the first two Beast Herds. Each of these represents the contents of a single regiment box.

The first unit is hand weapon and sheilds. Why? Well...because I got the models already built and I didn't feel like tearing them apart...and I didn't have the bits to make them into a two hand weapon unit.

The second unit is more properly equipped as a two hand weapon unit. Having never played the game I was still able to figure out that a shield is a waste of time for these guys.
These two units put me at about 750 points painted and ready to go. The movement trays are actually borrowed from the Chaos Hounds units. I will be making new trays for the Beast Herds that will be 7 figures wide by 3 ranks deep. Each unit will then have a character attached to help with the poor leadership.

Minotaurs!

Well i missed the Aug.1 deadline but not by much! This unit of Minotaurs puts be slightly above 500pts for our challenge. These were a blast to paint! The minis are a little hokey looking but they sure were fun to paint.

I need to create a banner for the standard bearer. I haven't given it much thought but it should be faily easy. I might just copy one from the codex and color it.

I have another unit of Minotaurs for this army but I don't think I will be painting them soon. Next level for the cahllenge is 750pts. For that I will do my Brey Shaman and probably add command elements to the Beast herds.

300 Points Done!

I finshed the last unit for my first 300 points of Beasts of Chaos. My Tale of More Than Four Gamers project required that I have this level completed by June 1...er...I am a little behind schedule.

Here is a picture of the army to-date. Next benchmark is 500Pts and that needs to be done...by...er...Friday. No worries I have a little time. Actually, the next unit is progressing nicely. I am working on a 4 man unit of Minotaurs which will put me a little over 500 points.

Beast Herd

This is the first Beast Herd for my Beast of Chaos army. This is a 12 Beastman unit with 6 Gors with shields and 6 Ungors. There is no command for this unit but there will be once we get to the higher point levels.

I have another unit almost like this one left for my 300 points. The second Beast Herd will have Gors with extra hand weapons. This seems to be a more popular configuration.

Tuskgor Chariot

Here is the next installment of my Beasts of Chaos army. This is my first Tuskgor Chariot. Our tale of more than four games is moving ahead. I have yet to finish the first 300 points that was due on June 1. We have yet to get any games in and it looks like we will not get any until 500 Pt level after July 1.

Wargor

Here is the first figure for my "Tale of (More than) Four Gamers" challenge. This is the leader of my Beasts of Choas army.

This was a fun figure to paint, but there are a lot of fiddly details. Unfortunately, many of the details are not visible in the pictures. The light is just a little to bright.

Here are the colors used to paint this model. This will also be the theme for the entire army, I think. All colors are Vallejo.
